Mnésis's work is to reconstruct the history of families from documents. We treat this page with the same care we give the archives entrusted to us: protecting what is yours is part of the service.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

MNESIS Consultoria e Pesquisa Histórica LTDA ("Mnésis"), CNPJ 34.054.671/0001-57, with registered office at Av. Engenheiro Fernando Guilhon, 1595, Jurunas, Belém/PA, Brazil, is the controller of the personal data processed on this site and in providing its services, under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13.709/2018, the LGPD). For any matter concerning personal data, including the exercise of rights, contact comercial@consultoriamnesis.com.

2. Legal bases for processing

We process personal data on the bases set out in the LGPD, according to the purpose:

3. What data we process

4. Data about other people that you send us

By the nature of genealogy, the documents you send us almost always contain data about people other than you: parents, grandparents, spouses, and other relatives, living or deceased. By sending us these documents, you declare that you may do so and authorize us to process them solely for the research and the purposes of your case. We treat this third-party data with the same protection applied to yours, and do not use it for any other purpose.

5. Data in historical and genealogical documentation

Part of our work involves historical records: birth, marriage, and death entries, passenger lists, parish and consular registers, which may contain data about deceased persons and past generations. This data is processed for the historical, genealogical, and documentary-reconstruction purpose of the case, and forms part, where applicable, of the Mnésis research archive.

6. How we use the data

To analyze your case, respond to your contact, and prepare a quote; to provide the contracted research and document-organization services; to comply with legal and contractual obligations; and to measure the performance of the site and of our outreach.

7. The documents you send: storage and protection

The documents sent are used only for the analysis and handling of your case. They are stored in an environment with access restricted to the team involved and are not disclosed to third parties, except for the sharing strictly necessary to provide the service (item 8) or by legal obligation. Once the case is concluded, the retention periods in item 11 apply.

8. Sharing and the operators that support us

Mnésis does not sell personal data. Sharing occurs only when necessary:

9. International transfers

Because the research reaches archives, registry offices, and consulates abroad, and because some technology tools we use operate outside Brazil, some data may be transferred internationally. In these cases we adopt the safeguards required by the LGPD to protect the transferred data.

10. Cookies and measurement technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, to measure site audience and campaign performance. You can manage cookies in your browser settings; disabling some may affect site features.

11. How long we keep data

We keep data and documents for as long as necessary for the purposes of processing, compliance with legal obligations, and the regular exercise of rights. Once the case is closed and the applicable periods have elapsed, the data is deleted or anonymized, except where storage is authorized or required by law.

12. Security

We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access and situations of loss, alteration, or improper disclosure.

13. Your rights

Under the LGPD, you may request at any time: confirmation that processing exists; access to your data; correction of incomplete or outdated data; anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary data; portability; information about with whom we share your data; and withdrawal of consent. To exercise them, write to comercial@consultoriamnesis.com.

14. How to request deletion of your data

To request the deletion of your data and the documents you sent us, simply write to comercial@consultoriamnesis.com identifying the request. We will comply within the shortest reasonable time, except for data the law requires us to keep or that is necessary for the regular exercise of rights. We will confirm to you when the deletion is complete.

15. Stories and testimonials

Family stories and testimonials are published only with the express authorization of those involved. Family archive photographs may undergo digital treatment or restoration, which is noted in the captions.

16. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date of the last update.
